SKMCA Education, Training and Research Department successfully delivered another noteworthy conference in collaboration with the SKMCA Orthopedics Center of Excellence Scientific Committee.

The conference in sport medicine took place at the Fairmont Hotel Ajman, Saturday December 16th and explored the most significant disciplines and innovations in sports medicine, which was a first for SKMCA. The visiting international speakers from Sweden focused on knee sports injuries, ankle and sports injuries in children, hip injuries and arthroscopic treatments and shoulder injuries.

Ideas were exchanged and discussed, and the knowledge in treating sport related injuries was shared and improved. The scientific aim of a program like this is to help to improve clinical diagnosis and early treatment of sports related injuries for different age groups.

SKMCA Orthopedics and Spine Centers of Excellence will be further developed to improve patient’s medical outcomes and deliver excellent care in order to become the Patient’s First choice.

Dr Lars Wahlstrom Head of CoE Orthopedic and Spine, explains further why this is important: “We increasingly see more sports related injuries and improving our knowledge to treat them is of course important but I also want to stress that we have a lot to learn from sports medicine to improve the recovery time on orthopedic related injuries, which will be of benefit to all patients.”
