An overview about United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates is made up of seven emirates, which are:
- The Emirate of Abu Dhabi is the largest of the seven Emirates. The Emirate includes the city of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the federal state
- The Emirate of Dubai is considered the second among the seven emirates in terms of area and is distinguished by its cultural diversity and iconic landmarks. It receives millions of visitors seeking pleasure and business every year, from all over the world.
- The Emirate of Sharjah is the third largest emirate in terms of area. It won the title of Capital of Arab Culture in 1998, Capital of Islamic Culture in 2014, and Capital of Arab Tourism in 2015. Culture in the emirate ranks high
- The Emirate of Ajman is the smallest of the seven emirates, and the Emirate of Ajman is currently ranked third among the seven Emirates in terms of its industrial renaissance
- The Emirate of Umm Al Quwain is the second smallest emirate in terms of area, and it is the oldest area in pearl diving in the world. Trade is active in the city due to the presence of its sea port.
- The Emirate of Ras AlKhaimah enjoys a strategic location in the northern part of the UAE at the entrance to the Arabian Gulf. The emirate is witnessing remarkable economic growth, especially after the establishment of the free zone and several tourist facilities.
Culture of the United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates enjoys a great cultural heritage that is reflected in the values and originality of its people, which remained ingrained in light of successive historical developments so that the country preserved the customs and traditions, folk arts, Emirati foods, social life and archaeological sites, along with the efforts of the state to preserve that heritage ancient culture
Culture of tolerance and coexistence in the United Arab Emirates
The UAE includes more than 200 nationalities that enjoy a decent life, respect and equality. It is also an incubator for the values of tolerance, moderation, and acceptance of others. To promote this concept, the government of UAE has launched the National Program for Tolerance, enacted the Anti-Discrimination and Hatred Law, and established several centers to combat extremism and terrorism.
About Sheikh Khalifa Medical City - Ajman
Sheikh Khalifa Medical City – Ajman established as part of H.H the president initiative, with the aim of providing medical services in various specialties to citizens and residents of the Northern Emirates.

SKMCA Women and Children Hospital is looking for a Consultant in Pediatric ICU/Critical Care to join the Pediatric Department. The role requires extensive experience as a Consultant in Pediatric ICU/Critical Care, with strong knowledge in the most common critical cases, among children. The ideal candidates should have qualification from an American Board/CCT/CCST/ in Pediatric Critical Care/Intensive Care, expected to work in general pediatrics and to cover clinics with on-call duty. Candidate need to provide well documented experience within PICU and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience post Specialty Board as a Consultant.
SKMCA Women and Children Hospital is looking for a Consultant in Neonatal Intensive Care to join the NICU Department. The role requires excellent clinical and technical skills in NICU environment. The ideal candidates should have Board membership or equivalent, e.g. The American Board of Medical Specialties, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, GMC/CCST Specialist Register, Fachartz Specialist Certificate, Fellowship from the Royal Australia and New Zealand Colleges American Board/CCT/CCST/ in Neonatal Critical Care/Intensive Care with at least five (5) years of experience in practice as a Consultant in NICU in a Tertiary Care Hospital after becoming fully qualified. . The Consultant is expected to cover clinics with on-call duty. Applicants need to provide well documented experience within NICU and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience post Specialty Board as a Consultant.
SKMCA Women and Children Hospital is looking for a Specialist in Neonatal Intensive Care to join the NICU Department. The candidate should have MBBS or MBChB or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution and completion of recognized specialty qualification, need to provide well documented experience within NICU and have a minimum of 3 -5 years of specialist experience post Specialty qualification.
SKMCA Women and Children Hospital is looking to hire a highly skilled Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecologist sub-specialized in Fetal Medicine. The candidate should specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of high risk or complicated pregnancies, examine patients to ensure proper care and provides consultation for complications associated with the pregnancy. The candidate requires a degree in Fetal Medicine from an accredited school fulfill the UAE license criteria.
SKMCA Masfoot Hospital is urgently looking for Consultant obstetrician & gynecologist who will be responsible for providing clinical care and expertise in assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment of women in pregnancy and other related illnesses of women, working closely with the clinical teams of the unit. SKMCA General Hospital is looking for a Consultant in Infectious Diseases to join the Medicine Department. The role requires extensive experience as a Consultant in Infectious Diseases, with strong knowledge in the most common infectious diseases, among children and adults alike. The ideal candidates possesses experience from an Antibiotic Stewardship Program. There is no permanent on-call requirement for the role, however, the Consultant is expected to be available to occasionally consult on cases outside working hours. Applications need to provide well documented experience within Infectious Diseases and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Consultant with the specialty.
SKMCA General Hospital is looking for a Consultant in Ophthalmology to joining the Surgery Department. The applicant must be an experienced Consultant with at least 5 years post Specialty Board. The ideal candidate has a background in General Ophthalmology and experience with emergency ophthalmology patients. Sub specialization within the anterior segment including cataract surgery is preferred.
SKMCA General Hospital is looking for an experienced Consultant in Orthopedics. The candidates shall either have strong background and knowledge in TKH, THA and endoprosthesis or specialized in Ortho Trauma and have skills in Arthroscopic Surgery. Successful candidates require at least 5 years’ experience as a Consultant.
