This multidisciplinary team of professionals is working together in cooperation with other departments of the center to provide diagnosis, counseling, education, treatment and lifestyle options, support and motivation to the patients.

Nutrition, Physiotherapy and Bariatric Clinics

The clinic also offers individualized nutritional counseling sessions type 1 and type 2 diabetes patients in order to meet the patients identified needs. The clinic also offers educational sessions on healthy eating, portion control, behavior modification and physical therapy to a group of 6-8 patients. Educational lectures are conducted for the patients and their families on weight management, bariatric nutrition and lifestyle modification during Ramadan fasting.

Bariatric Clinic

The direct correlation linking obesity and impediment of a healthy physical condition has been well researched and documented in recent times. Type 2 diabetes, hypertension and coronary heart disease, are the most frequent complications, others include cerebral strokes, cancers, osteoarthritis and psychological disorders. Metabolic surgery (bariatric surgery) has, in a number clinical studies including the Swedish Obese Subject Study, proven to be most effective treatment method to achieve sustainable weight reduction and avoid or reverse obesity related complications.

Podiatry Clinic

The diabetic podiatry team consisting of two consultant diabetologist and two wound care specialist nurses is offering education, diagnosis, preventive and curative, both local and systemic, treatments for patients with diabetes related foot problems. The clinic includes three treatment stations for diabetic foot patients, serving as the first specialised diabetes foot clinic in the U.A.E.

Ophthalmology Clinic

The Eye Clinic offers retinal screening, examination, treatment and professional advice on eye care and health. The clinic is run by a professional team comprising of a consultant ophthalmologist and two ophthalmology specialist nurses. Our patients, during their initial visit, are given detailed assessment of their eyes including visual acuity, intra-ocular pressure check and retinal photography.

Dental Clinic

The dental team consisting of a dentist and dental nurses offers education, diagnosis, preventive and curative treatments for patients with diabetes related dental problems. The first specialized diabetes dental clinic in the UAE, we offer oral screening examination, treatment and professional advice on oral and dental care and health of diabetes patients.
