Are you are planning to embark on a career in the field of medicine? If so, the medical internship program at H.H the President Initiatives Hospitals offers you the opportunity of gaining one of the best possible internship experiences that the UAE has to offer.
Designed to offer eligible students the opportunity of acquiring hands-on practical clinical experience, to complement academic learning, our Medical Internship Program includes clinical rotations across all H.H. the President Initiatives Hospitals (MOPA) medical facilities, namely:

  • Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital- Umm Al Quwain (SKGH) – a 203-bedded General Hospital in Umm Al Quwain,
  • Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital- Ras Al Khaimah (SKSH) – a 246-bedded tertiary referral hospital based in Ras Al Khaimah; and
  • Sheikh Khalifa Medical City- Ajman (SKMCA) – a 220+ bedded hospital based in Ajman.

Our Mission is to offer an internship program, uniquely designed, to provide medical interns with a comprehensive learning that will enhance their medical knowledge and clinical skills, and support them as they gain exposure to aspects related to professionalism, system-based learning and problem solving techniques.

Program Overview

With the aim of ensuring a holistic, up-to-date medical internship experience the H.H. the President Initiatives Hospitals medical intern program has been developed and is based on  recognized international standards.
The curriculum offered at H. H the President Initiatives Hospitals not only addresses core medical concepts and diverse clinical topics but also places emphasis on communication, understanding systems and quality of patient care, emotional intelligence and evidence based medicine. This program ensures that new graduates are equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence early in their careers.

Application period

  • Application documents should be submitted between June 1 – June 30, 2022. Applications that are submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

Eligibility of application

  • UAE nationals
    • Graduates from medical schools listed in the Avicenna database (formerly the WHO Directory of Medical Schools).
